The KCC Club Road Championships held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, were a resounding success, marked by exceptional performances and near-perfect racing conditions. With bright sun and very little wind, the Kapiti coast provided a fast and fair course for all competitors.
The highlight of the day came from the A Grade race. While the competition was fierce and KCC member Frank Sutton took out line honours, it is Alexander Glennwell who secured his place in club history as the 2026 KCC Club Road Champion having participated in at least 4 club events over the past 12 months,
Below is a summary of the podium finishers across all grades. For a full breakdown of placings, please see the detailed results PDF attached at the bottom of this post.

While the day was filled with celebration, our thoughts are with the three riders in C Grade who were involved in a crash near the finish line. We wish them a very speedy recovery and hope to see them back on the bike soon.
An event of this scale is only possible through the dedication of our community. A massive thank you to all the volunteers—marshals, timekeepers, and organizers—who gave up their Saturday to ensure the safety and success of the championships. Special mention to Jaqualine and Steve Chapman running rego and the finish shute, Ian Gordon and Phil Cocker for race management, and Richard Graham and John Valentine for course setup.
