The finale of the Tineli Winter Series wrapped up last Saturday with another successful race on the Te Horo course and the series winners found! Winners are grinners and well-deserved smiles accompanied their jeresys and Tineli vouchers.
See photo, from left to right, our series winners are:
Back Row: Euan Mason (A grade), Ryan Tait, (B grade), Dwight Garton (C grade), Simon Bickers (D grade). Front Row: Ocean Wooley (highest woman on points) and Amelia Burkhart (3rd highest woman on points)
(Absent: Pete Gibbs, E grade)
We'd like to sincerely thank everyone who helped to make the series a success, including riders, volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Thank you to members, committee and non-members for all your support over the series, We had over 70 riders at all 4 races, amounting to over 120 in total - we're so thankful for your participation and hope you had a great time.
We were again very generously supported by Tineli, allowing us to award $1500 worth of Tineli product vouchers and the winners jerseys. Tineli has been the supplier of our Club kit for 6 years now and they are great to deal with on all levels. If you're shopping for new kit, we encourage you to check out www.tineli.co.nz
Ruth Pretty's Garden Room provided not only the delightful venue for our after race prizegivings but also weekly prizes for Coffee and Cake for two. Plus discounted vouchers for all our volunteers EACH WEEK. We're very happy to provide all volunteers with a voucher for coffee and cake as a token of our thanks. Each race takes over 18 people on the day to put it on - from setting up and breaking down over 2 trailers worth of cones and signs, to registration, marshalling, H&S, race managing, etc.
We're very grateful for the support of locals to use the lovely quiet roads of Te Horo for our races. We're thankful to be able to use Te Horo Country Hall (even more so now they have heating!!) and the owner of the packing sheds across the road for parking, which helps to keep the roads and berms as clear as possible.
We'll be back in action on Sunday 15th October, as we host the North Island Teams Series on the same course. KCC will have 2 teams in the series this year and we're delighted that Jorge has accepted our invitation to host one stage on our Te Horo course. If you're riding in this series, enjoy and good luck! If you're not riding, we'd very much appreciate your support to help out in a volunteer capacity! A formal call for volunteers will be made closer to the time.
We look forward to seeing you next year! If you'd like to give us any feedback on the series, please email us on kapiticc.president@gmail.com
