Final results for the Tineli KCC Winter Series 2022

Te Horo saved it's best weather for our last race in this year's series - sunny, calm and cool, with snow on the hills providing the perfect backdrop for our winter series finale.    However, the racing was hot!  We went into the final race with all grades tightly packed on points and that's how it finished - with ties in EVERY grade!  This meant lots of recalibrating for the prize-giving but rather than split prizes, we increased the prize pool to match.

Thanks to all who supported the Club over the series - riders, drivers, marshalls, set-up and pack-down crews, race managers, photographers - you all help to make it possible.  And a huge THANKS to everyone who pitched in to help - you're all stars.   Stay tuned for more pro photos on Facebook from sports photographer Mark Frickleton who attended race 3 and 4 with his camera.

Thank you too for the all-important support of our sponsors, Tineli, Ruth Pretty Catering and Biking Mad, who helped us to award over $1500 in prizes at the prizegiving yesterday.   Special thanks to Tineli, and our rep Grant in particular, who not only flew in to help with prize-giving, but stepped in to marshall because we were short!

Thank you also for your feedback during the series!  E-grade was a success yesterday and we'll offer that again next year.  As was the Leader's jersey for women.  We also heard demand for a junior's price for next year - kudos to those young'uns who mixed it in almost every grade and rode so well.

Sadly, there was one crash yesterday.  Right near the end of lap 2 in D-grade, some wheels touched and Rebecca Owen went down hard.  Our thoughts are with you Rebecca and we hope that your collarbone heals quickly!  Many thanks to Ian Fraser and Rex Dobson (who were both in contention for winning spots in the points) for stopping to assist Rebecca.  We awarded both Ian and Rex Ruth's Rider of the Day for your sportsmanship.

Congratulations to all our winners, place-getters and riders.  Without further ado, here are the final placings by grade.  (Full results and points are here: https://events.onetime.sport/event/1189/points )
