Our Unsung Heroes - the big crew who help to put on the Winter Series

KCC is a little Club that likes to punch above its weight and deliver safe, professional-level events.  Our Winter Series attracts riders from across the lower North Island, offering a safe course, over $1200 in prize vouchers, timing system, spirited graded racing, often lovely winter weather and a warm welcome.  You the riders bring the spirit, we bring the welcome!

To make this all happen we rely heavily on the goodwill of our members, their loved ones and our extended family and friends to deliver this really neat event.  We always mention our volunteers in dispatches for good reason, it takes many hands to tackle all the tasks required - you could say that it takes a village to raise the event!

This week we shouted all our helpers to a coffee at Ruth Pretty's as a very small token of our thanks for their help.  The list below is the people we want to thank for their help to make this week's event a success:

Couse Setup/Pack Down Crew: Richard Graeme, Dwight Garton, Rhys Evans, Dave Chandler, Tristan Ratcliffe, Gary Clareburt

Marshalls: John Valentine, Deb Foster, Jo Warren, Christine Stevenson, Phil Cocker, Rysz Balejko

Registration Team: Bruce Edgar, Janice Hill, Ian Gordon

On Course Medic: Georgie Clareburt

Race Manager: Glynis Te Mapai-Kemp

Thanks also to those who helped pack up cones, stored/towed the trailers, prepared the timing chips, encouraged someone to enter..... and the many other tasks needed - often without being asked.  It's what we love about our little Club - thank you.
