Tineli KCC Winter Series 2022 is about to kick off!

After a fabulous summer of riding, there's a new nip in the air which can only mean one thing - the KCC Tineli Winter Series is just around the corner!

Put these dates in your calendar now:

Saturday 16 & 23rd July and 6 & 13th August (with 20th August as a reserve rain date).  Start time will be 1pm, but please register before each event before 12.30pm.

What is the Tineli Winter Series?  A series of 4 graded road races run by the Kapiti Cycling Club for Grades A - D plus the Social Circuit (group ride) option,  Points for each race are awarded and accumulate over the series, with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.  Prizes are Tineli gift vouchers - so you can choose some lovely new kit!

Early Bird entries are now open!   Due to increased traffic management costs, race entry this year will be:

  • $40 per race for non-members (or $110 for all 4 races if purchased online before 10th July)
  • $20 per race for KCC members (or $50 for all 4 races if purchased online before 10th July)

As usual, the registration and start/finish will be at the Te Horo Community Hall, School Rd, Te Horo.  After graded racing, everyone is invited back to Ruth Pretty's Garden cafe for coffee, cake and results and where Ruth's Rider of the Day will be awarded.

Both Otaki Gorge Rd and School Rd (the start/finish) were resealed (fine grit) around 3 months ago, so the course is in great condition. With Transmission Gully now open, those coming from Wellington should have a smooth and quick trip up (around 40 minutes from Kelburn) to sunny Te Horo!
