For those that don't know where that is spell it backwards.

The day after the storm of Friday night was near perfect with a
southerly still blowing and forecast for a late change to NW.

Friday night at 6pm we found out where the start was: Raumati South and
the finish Alfredton. Which route you took was up to you. I believe it
was split 50/50 with some going north via Pahiatua track and others via
Akas /Rimutaka route.

Masterton was well represented with Sue Lyttle pushing Ray Marshall
along on a tandem and another team of Revving Devon, Chris McBride and
Roger Skerton, Managed by Cheryl. Lesley was to have been in this team
but granny duties called. Thirdly was Malc Allen, Ben the Butcher, PJ
and Klingon, managed by Swales. Hence the team Name: SWALES WHALES. Each
member had a name linked to a Whale. Blue, Killer, Pilot, Sperm and
Minke!!

Devs and Sues teams went North via Pahiatua Track and the Swales Whales
went Akas-Rimutakas.

All finished and had a good time. Wasn't so good at stages and sure as
hell don't feel so good today.

Well all the whales climbed at a good tempo and an awesome ride down the
Rimutakas with PJ and Malc passing at least one car!!

From there it was a team Time Trial through to Alfredton. Rarely below
38k and at times 48k along the plains. Not very often you get a tail
wind to Alfreton.

The Swale whales won bragging rights for the day: 5 hrs and 3 mins to
have fastest time by 12mins.

Great day Barbie, and beers had Klingon in his element. Lost of tired
people.

Thanks to Kapiti Club awesome work

Regards,

Andrew Linton
