Comment by GUEST on 2010-07-28 11:32:30 KCC, Thanks heaps to the many volunteers who worked behind the scenes doing race registration, marshalling, catering, and race management - you have all done a great job. I have thoroughly enjoyed the racing throughout the series and am already looking forward to next year's KCC Winter Series. regards Marty Bidois WVCC |

Comment by GUEST on 2010-07-28 12:32:39 I concur also with Marty's comments. Well done KCC and especially Race Manager, Registratiion staff who were so friendly during the registration process, marshals and timekeppers for a tremendous and safe series in 2010. Rob NZ Army Cycling |

Comment by matto on 2010-07-29 22:15:24 I thought I would share some of my thoughts. I raced this series only to prove a point to myself. I chose to marshal the first week because I figured it was an easy way to get 5 points. In hind sight I should have raced the first week. I did not like the course, and hated the turns, disliked the close racing / tight bunches, etc and yet I still won the D grade. Will I be going up to C? Nope, I doubt that I will actually race in this style again. It is simply not my thing, however I will be out there, hopefully on the other side of a camera, or otherwise supporting / assisting / etc. I love the cycling, but racing apparently just isn't my thing. Thanks to all the awesome guys and gals who raced in D grade, it was great to beat you all (twice) and to take the series. Thanks to all the marshals, setup and packup crews, timers, those at the desks and everyone else who organised the series. You made it a real pleasure to attend and it felt safe to be out there. The achievement of winning was my first ever sporting achievement in racing / winning, and for that I have proven that I can do it. It was a good, clean, hard fought series. I look forward to seeing many of you out on the roads, preferably in a less competitive environment. Cheers Matt |
Comment by GUEST on 2010-08-01 11:50:02 Only raced twice races 3 & 5 thoroughly enjoyed both improved time by over 2 mins. Would probably race D grade next year and be more competitive. Who was the person in white station wagon taken photos at race 5 might like to get some copies if poss. Well done Kapiti cycling club. Thanks Richard |
