UPDATED Tuesday racing continues... PDF Print E-mail

Since things are going so well at Peka Peka and the weather continues to play the game - we're going to continue racing on Tuesday night for another few weeks...

So that means normal racing on the 9th, 16th and the 23rd.  And we'll also throw in a mixed ability Team Time Trial in the 30th.

We may have to shorten the race to 3 laps depending on the weather and light conditions - but we'll play that by ear and let you know prior to each race.

Can you all please also make sure that you wear your race number each week in case we have to run a manual timing race at any stage.   (STOP PRESS - please note that we will be manually timing the race tonight (the 9th) - so that means riders must have numbers - no number no result.  So bring your own numbers if you have one or pick one up at the registration - so allow more time for everyone to do this.  Manual timing also means that we will be running a finish shute - that will be positioned a couple of hundred meters past the finish line.  You must go through the shute in single file and slow enough for someone to write down the numbers as the go through.  So after the finish - you MUST stay in the order that you finished - slow down and get into single file.  It's no real drama - but we need everyone to play the game for it to work properly.)

It helps a heap for the Time Trial organisation if you let us know in advance that you'll be riding the TTT.  Then Bob in his wisdom will put everyone in equal ability teams.  It's a fantastic event where you quickly have to figure out the way to get the best out of the team that's just been thrown together.  And it's a great way to get to know people from outside your racing group.   So please add a comment to let us know that you'll be riding in the Time Trial.

The extra races also means extra marshals are required.  If you haven't marshaled so far this year - then it's your time to step up.  We can't race without marshals and it's not fair for the same people to have to do it all the time.  It's a part of being a member of the club - and it's a constant battle trying to get people to meet their obligation - so please help us out here.  Visit the mashaling page - by clicking here  - and leave a comment to register that you are willing to help out on one of the days listed above.

Cheers

Adrian.
