A fine night coupled with light winds saw a big turnout this week.

The handicap race saw four Limit riders work hard together to create an impressive dent on the rest of the Limit group. In the spirit of fair play they attempted to manufacture a three way tie on the finish line. Electronic timing to 100th of a second technically defeated them, but in the spirit it was asked, and being Limit riders I've accorded them 1st equal. Manual timing would have guaranteed a result like this...

On the fastest ride of the day, Sam King-Turner defeated Fin Brazier by 0.12 of a second with Miles coming third 1.3 seconds behind.

There are a couple of riders whose tags were not read on the last lap. This could be due to not finishing. If you finished, but your tag was not read, please drop a note letting me know who you finished behind, and whether you very clearly crossed the mat, whether you were two or three abreast at the time, or did you ride a little wide of the mat. This will help us determine the cause of your missed reading.

There is a tag that wasn't recorded on the registration sheet that started in Break 3. I've attributed it to Dean McCarroll as a loan tag, but if you know who finished behind Steve Marshell and in front of Derek Ward, let me know.

Thank yo to Hope, Bob, and Dave for Race management. Our marshals this week were Abdi Abdat, Mike Quinn, Steve Smith, Bruce Jenkins, John Pratt and Des Batten. Thank you all.

Marshals are required for the nextfew  weeks and the 3rd Interclub Club race at Te Horo, which we are hosting. Please check the Marshal Roster link on the Home page.

My tag didn't record on the last lap again this week. I was on the inside and made sure I crossed the mat. Bryan Edwards crossed just ahead of me.

The Break 3 Kmph figures look wrong. They are lower than last week but we ran the course quicker this week.

Also it looks like Kelly Jamieson's first lap is out as she started with break 4 and remained with them past the end of the 1st lap

Don't you guys have jobs to do? I forgot to amend the distance from Waikanae circuit to Peka Peka circuit. The individual lap time calculation doesn't work in excel if the time exceeds 24 (as in 24 hr clock), so it's ok on the Te Horo circuit, but Peka Peka can exceed 24 minutes if you missed a lap read (ie it adds the time for two laps together and is greater that 24..)

As an aside, I don't have time to individually check every field of every rider. It's a best effort, and there will be inconsistencies particularly when I have to jimmy the result to get you a time.

Cheers

Gidday Joe, yep you seem to be attracting all the luck huh..look for Dave Downer on Tuesday and just get hom to check the position of your tag on the bike. Just something to tick off the list. Cheers Chris

Regarding the 1st lap time in the split times. Sportscore looks for the start time, counts the number of reads (as per the lap count that is set) and then counts backwards from the last time recorded. When a rider misses a lap read or starts in the wrong group (according the start list) you will get an odd time for the first lap. In Kelly's case there are four readings, so I'm not sure how the 22 minutes stacks up.

Hey just a reminder to everyone who has queries on the results that Chris spends many hours of his personal time every week putting together these results.
The odd anomaly that is produced through many of the issues noted above is going to happen and that's just the way it is.

Thanks Chris for all of your time & efforts.

Thanks for all the hard work getting these out Chris and thanks for the first equal. It was a really hard run for limit riders and I think the team work was great. Next week, in the spirit of things, I think we will all sprint at the end! Many thanks, Julian and Rachael.

Cheers team. I don't want to squash questions, or people pointing out where there is a fundamental mistake in finishing order. It happens, especially when I'm not there. This forum does need to allow updates. I just want people to understand that there are some results that are out of my control. I usually take it a compliment that people are enjoying the races and the results mean something to them, and therefore are worthy of being correct. It just can't happen all of the time.
..now get out there and ride hard

Yes Chris 9733 is my tag, although it's not a loan tag as it has my name on it.

Cheers Dean McCarroll

In response to Julian's comment about the sprint - yes I hope you enjoy the sprint from break four. Cheers Peter

Or maybe we could have a break 5 group??? I think we may be a bit slow for break 4??? Otherwise we may be sprinting from about 2 minutes down on break 4? Cheers, Julian.
