Results have been partly manual this week as the timing system was off for the beginning of the race, hopefully I've got it right. Julian and Rachael win the handicap on the Tandem, while Fin pipped Miles to come in fastest. Zoe Anderson was fastest woman. Great effort from Kelly Jamieson to place second on handicap. Thanks to our race crew and marshals once again. We are short of marshals in coming weeks so please put your name if you haven't marshaled. Note that the road is narrower than Park Avenue and given that we, as race organisers, cannot have you crossing the centre line. That is why there are only two mats placed at the finish line. This means that if you ride wide, you may well not get recorded in the results. So you might get the satisfaction of beating someone, but you place yourself in danger, and potentially the race venue, and you won't appear on the results...sounds pretty PC, but just stop and think about it for a second...its only a club race. That's enough on that topic, I don't think it's a big issue, just something to think about when you are out there in a bunch and want to scoot round the outside... Results are here

Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 11:33:36 Chris , I joined up two new members from my staff Kelly Jamieson and Mark Kennedy .They have tags so I will find out their numbers They both started on limit and Kelly finished second behind Julian on the tandem.See that on Matt's video clip .There was a group of seven or so limit riders together at the finish.I saw Doug and AJ finish together sometime after everyone else . John McCardle | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 09:10:10 Not quite sure how I managed to pop up in the times as I wasn't there. Greg M | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 10:10:34 Doug Barrett rode with me, we finished together @ 1:22 AJ | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 10:42:06 Hi Greg, your tag registered at 7.25pm. Did you marshal? and perhaps drive past with your bike or tag in the car? Looking into the detail of the file, I do see that you did not start, but because I did a manual result, I assumed you had ridden instead of marshal (and perhaps asked your dad to marshal for you..) Chris | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 10:44:25 Hi AJ, I see Doug riding with you on lap 3 (via the data file), but he doesn't register at the finish. I assumed he puctured. I'll add him to the result with your time. Chris | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 11:44:55 Just a word of caution on judging the results on the montage video of Matts photos that I put together. It's a series of still photos - joined together. So there are gaps. You can't say that someone came directly behind someone based on that evidence - unless they are both crossing the line in the same shot. Cheers Adrian. | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 11:51:19 For example - Finn, Miles and Vaughn finished shortly after the tandem - but there were no photos of them finishing so they don't feature at all in the montage. | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 11:55:24 I crawled over the line between Neil Garton and Bryan Edwards (closer to Bryan) but am missing from the results somehow. Joe | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 12:01:45 HI Chris My tag no. is 9008 ,my first race for awhile in a peleton ,really enjoyed the pain ,safe course ,marshalls & cones, signs etc.I came 21st av 35.5.good luck. Wardy P S julian carrs son will need to add a front brake with is fixed wheel bike to make it legal for racing on the road. | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 13:00:15 Joe, you must have ridden wide of the mat. I see you on lap 3, but you don't register on the final lap. In general, (and this isn't a lecture for you specifically, Joe..) if you cross the centre line, you could be disqualified anyway. Easy to say when you aren't sprinting to finish, but that's why there are only two mats to the centre line. Talking it over with Bob, to run a safe race we can't have riders on the wrong side of the road. I'll credit you with Bryan's finish time. Chris | Comment by julianc on 2010-02-12 13:38:34 I would like to thanks the riders in the limit group for working so well as a group and some of us not getting caught by the others! If we do the same next week they will have to work a little bit harder to get us. Corners were for better for the tandems this week - thanks. By the way, Mike George on the second tandem started with the limit group. I think there were 7 in the limit group at the start. Great ride thanks. Julian. | Comment by JoeC on 2010-02-12 13:39:52 Thanks Chris, I was slowing down not sprinting so can't see how I missed the mat. I must have been in a worse way than I thought! See you next week. Joe | Comment by GUEST on 2010-02-12 14:24:31 Chris , Could you check the tag no.s for the McCardles as we have on our bikes John 9949 Paul 9942 Greg 9056 .
