I guess there were about 40 riders at the back of Farmers at 8am today. We split in 3 groups: Doug etc went up north; Dianne, Malcolm and some others went around the block and we, a group of 10, went to Otaki.

We did about 65km, which was the longest ride ever for some of us. The weather was perfect, we were back before 11. A good ride.

I, Steve, was one of the 6 whom set off round the block. We split up as we went along, with Malcolm returning from Pauatahanui, 5 carried on as far as Moonshine turn off which 3 riders took, Dianna and I decided to try out Blue Mountains and Whitemans Valley before "attacking" the Akas. The inevitable happened and we split at the bottom of the Akas, no guesses for who went ahead! I opted for a bite and lie down in the shade, plus a few stops on the way up, including a welcome cold Berry Smoothie at Staglands. Finally arriving home at 14:15 having covered 112kms total. It was quite a warm ride to say the least! Steve

Does anyone want to join me around the block on Sunday 14th? Leaving Westside of Coastlands about 8.03am.
