Hi Folks

The group of cardiologists riding from Cape Reinga to Bluff to fund raise for a new chair of cardiac disease prevention at Auckland University will be passing through our area this coming Sunday.   They will be having lunch at the reserve just south of the Otaki Bridge at around noon and leaving for Paraparaumu at 1pm.  I would assume they will pass through Paraparaumu somewhere around 1:15 -1:30 but these times are fairly approximate depending on the weather. The next stop will be at  the Aotea lagoons at the Whitby turnoff.   If possible support /cheering/encouragement from our club/public would be appreciated either at the reserve at Otaki or assemble by Elizabeth Taylor Graphics on SH1 near the lights as there is parking available & they don't trade Sundays.  There could be a limited opportunity for a small number of members to ride with them & I would suggest joining at Otaki or the lights at Paraparaumu.  Unfortunately I can't attend but hopefully there will be others available despite the short notice as it has only just been confirmed.

I rode up to Levin and joined with them back through to the lights at Paraparaumu. Was a great ride and an awesome sight to see 30+ cyclists all in red & black (I guess the cantabs will like them) in a row. Great ride for a great cause. Matt
