Hi Folks

Praises for the good turn out on last weekends training rides. Apologies for the bunch disintegrating at the Otaki round about on the Saturday ride. There were about three different courses in mind. Nice work for the solo efforts (John x 2 and Quentin) back home into the stiff southerly. While your cursing the bunch for ditching you  just think of  the extra  training you get when your out there alone. I know I was pretty stuffed when I got home and I was bludging from the bunch all morning.

Lets, for at least the next month stick to the same course so everyone can gauge there own efforts with a consistent course distance. Basically Otaki round about and back via the back roads. Around 70Km. Later when legs are  stronger we will lengthen the rides. Well done Andre for stepping up to the A group on Sunday. Brave man on his mountain bike?? He hung in there..Dose anyone have a spare roadie??

Four weeks of training before the TeHoro winter series and then I'm pretty sure the PNP club (Wellington) do a similar series soon after. Lots of good racing to look forward to. All races are graded (A to..D) so you are always racing riders of your own ability.  No two races are the same. You quickly learn how the bunch operates, you quickly become familiar with the opposition. Who's helpful and who's not. Who's good to draft behind (the biggest biker) and who not to draft behind (the slowest biker)

Almost an unspoken relationship develops between riders in your bunch that you recognise from the previous races. The more racing you do the better it gets.  Any reservations or questions about getting to the start line, let me know, otherwise..see you there!! Same place, same time this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am from Farmers car park.Weather forecast is for rain and strong north westerlies. Winter riding..love it.

Cheers

Dave
