I hope you enjoy the website - a lot of time has been put into it. Mike Doyle and I are primarily responsible for its production, but credit must also go to Grant Bray who donated quite a number of hours to the project - using his guru like photoshop skills to produce the very professional front page banner (he actually produced 15 - but 14 of them didn't make it to production - there can be only one!). The main banner photo was taken by me as a test to see if there were any good photogenic spots up Paekakariki Hill where I could get riders and Kapiti in the background. But it came out so well I decided to use it. (I've since been back up the hill and tried to get the same shot with riders in it - but the conditions weren't great and the the pic didn't come out as good). It's actually 5 photos that I stitched together on the computer - and was done without the use of a tripod. It's amazing what software can do!! I'm keen to have another go at it because with mulitple images stitched together - you can do some interesting things - like have the same riders in the end result photo, mulitple times! Development of the site was primarily done using the Mambo Content Management System. This is free opensource software - and is a great way to get a fantasic looking site. If you want some geeky language - it has a Apache, php, MySQL backend. Drop me a line and let me know what you think (or if you find any spelling mistakes) - I'm open to suggestions.
