Weekend Group Rides
Written by Matt Oliver
Jul 30, 2012 at 07:33 PM

We seem to be spoilt for choice at the moment (lots of people and lots of groups doing there own thing) I would like to add to that and just remind everyone that we have groups leaving the back of Coastlands, by Farmers, at 8am every Saturday and Sunday. These are informal rides designed and planed to suit everyone, riders that want to improve, reach new levels of fitness, learn from many of our experienced riders, learn how to ride in a group, should come along and start from Pram and build up levels of fitness and ability. Sometimes there's racing on and the group will change but if you keep turning up you will see improvements. These rides are also designed for getting around Taupo so wouldn't it be a lot nicer riding for hours on end with a group of people focused on getting round Taupo in a reasonable condition.

Kind Regards

Greg Cundy

~I'll pop a more formal list up later but here's the rides I know about on atthe moment:

Saturday / Sunday 8.00am outside Farmers (as per above) Greg is the contact for this one

Sunday (60/40 group) starting generally around there too from 8.00 on Sundays. If you want to know more about the 60/40 group contact John Barber.

Saturday (starting early and getting earlier) Location is TBA, plans TBA, commecing in a couple of weeks. These rides are specifically focussed on (my) Taupo training and at this stage will only run up till then. These will be 4-5 hour rides and are for those who don't mind the early starts and need to get home earlier. Matt Oliver is the contact. ~ I'll get more info out about these soon, including a full training plan.

Anybody doing these and intending to ride back to Kapiti afterwards?

It's worth remembering the PNP Balfour-Pennington Series races running on Saturdays as a follow on from our Potato Guy Series.
