Race Results 29 Nov

The sun came out to play and so did 33 riders tonight. Being tired of sitting on the sideline watching you all I spent a nervous day planning how I could get to ride to, and with some assistance from Steve Chapman on how to sort things I got to do so.

Despite being called a burglar, even with a huge break away I was not able to even get close to Stephen Smith who set of at a great pace riding solo from Limit. He stuck it out right to the end and tonight took away the win, with me second and Dale Lopez taking out 3rd. It's the first time since I have been doing this that riders from 3 different breaks took out the 3 top places for the handicap race.

Looking at the fastest times the lads worked well together as always but perhaps it was tiredness from Taupo, or maybe the challenging surface, or the wind, but they didn't quite break the 50 minute mark, with Sam taking it on the line from Miles, both recording times of 50.09. Finlay took out 3rd with a time of 50.11

So that's it for another night. I was really nervous about racing and moreso about being in a larger bunch on a circuit I have never ridden before, so I chose to ride in break 4. Next time out it'll be break 3 for me.

Don't forget Sunday afternoon at 2.00pm we have the Club hill climb champs, and this will be followed from 4.00pm with a family and friends BBQ at the Otaihanga domain. Bring the kids, there'll be some games for them, and a good old fashioned, break the nanny state, politically incorrect, obesity causing lolly scramble, and of course the BBQ will be burning bright. Come one, come all, bring some food & drinks and make the most of an evening out.
